The tantalizing smells of warm garlic bread, bubbling tomato sauce and fresh spices such as
basil and oregano waft from the kitchen of Rose’s Family Restaurant in Oxford, which offers authentic Italian cuisine featuring traditional fare from both southern and northern Italy at lunch and dinner. The staff at Rose’s prides itself on fresh, homemade food; staff members make their own bread, sauces, meatballs, pizza dough, fried mozzarella and soups. Favorite beef, chicken, veal, seafood and pasta dishes are menu mainstays, along with an assortment of pizzas from the traditional to the gourmet, including seafood pizzas. Calzones and grinders are also available. Particularly noteworthy are a variety of stuffed breads, including pepperoni, broccoli and eggplant. On a recent visit, special selections included seafood casserole with lobster, shrimp and handpicked diver scallops and lobster ravioli a la vodka, served with fresh shrimp and scallops. The menu regularly offers different steak options. Everything from the menu is available for takeout. Owners Agim and Izet Mamudov are brothers who share the kitchen with their mother, Selvie. The brothers welcome diners to the Venetian room, where they can enjoy a delicious meal serenaded by the likes of Andrea Bocelli and Luciano Pavarotti, while surrounded by sweeping murals of Venice. Children are always welcome at Rose’s, where each young diner receives his or her own special menu. In addition to offering a warm welcome to families, Rose’s is the favorite gathering place of many civic groups, youth groups, sports teams and business associations.
             Rose’s offers a full bar service, including imported and domestic beer and an extensive collection of premium wines and spirits. Two separate dining rooms accommodate all of Rose’s customers. For parties and gatherings, Rose’s Family Restaurant is the place to go for events planned on or off the premises. The restaurant is also an ideal dining destination during the holiday season. The restaurant caters for 10 people or more, and hosts parties of as many as 70 people. From Exit 15 off I-84 in Southbury, drive south on Route 67 for seven miles and turn left into the Pleasant Valley Professional Plaza. Free delivery is available for residents of Oxford with a minimum purchase of $20 and Seymour residents with a minimum purchase of $25. The restaurant also delivers to select areas of Beacon Falls for a $25 minimum. Rose’s is open seven days a week, Mon-Thurs 11 A.M.to 10 P.M.  Friday and Saturday 11 A.M. to 11 P.M. And Sunday 12 P.M. - 9 P.M.
